I know sometimes you have to go thru several thermostats to get the right one no matter what these part stores have entered into their computer. I have a pile of nos parts boxed up and will be going...

Just replaced my modulator and hose . Started shifting better but still a slight slip from 1 to 2 . Added Lucas oil and Been shifting good since . A cheap way for trial and error .

The great race will make a pit stop in Rome Ga but it is about 25 miles off the Dixie Hwy . One of the participants lives in the outskirts of Rome and they will stop at his farm and workshop around...

Hope you got a new key , I took my ignition out of my 60 falcon in about 10 minutes by just pooping the clip off the back of it and pulling out the tumbler .

Thanks so much , I remember the 51 when I was a child , I was born in 58 and my parents drove that car until 66 when it stopped running . It sat a little while and a man came over and worked on it...

I don't have a very technical answer but , I had old hard felt in my tracks so I replaced runners and made sure the bottom glass mechanism was lined back up so years of trying to roll up the window...

Putting in a 1g in the one I have says 60 amps and just extending some ford brackets I got from a junk yard . Have the original voltage regulator and generator in my parts cabinet if I decide to go...

Thanks for the replies, I will look at wiring and see about upsizing and try to spot other issues I may cause with alternator. Several friends recommended a new one wire alternator but have not...

Have 3 good alternator and several brackets to make work , but I have 2 rebuilt original generator. The only adds I will be doing is electric wipers instead of vacuum and up grade headlights.

Thinking about swapping my generator to an alternator while I have motor out of my 60 falcon . What components would I need to change from factory generator set up ? Worth the trouble?

By looking at your headlight I believe that at some point in time my plug was changed and my ground is where you show hi beam . I will check this afternoon. That would make sense why when i click...

Thanks for the info , acording to the dash the bright works and dim does not . I will unplug and check as stated above and see if a plug has swapped or broken wire causing a ground out .

Tried again but seems its just sparking . I too 2 pieces of long wire and pulled under hood while in dimmer switch plug and when touched togeather the new relay clicks but no lights .

Bought a unit for my bronco under dash but did get the unit with the heat and air all in one . The heat works great and I did make a bracket and put a modern 134A sanden compressor on my 302 ....

Finally got it clean , did find purple power to clean off final dirt and grease . I am draining it all the way down and torque converter . My 1960 shop manual say with transmission out and a total...

Thanks for the info , I am back to small brush and krudcutter . I think now the best thing is take the time and get the hard stuff off with elbow grease .

That's what I've found , says not to mix with different brands . Hope to drain it all out and refill when I find out what is best to replace with . Thanks for all the help .

Yes it is the 2 speed aluminum body . I didn't know until today that parts are getting hard to find for it . I believe I will take my time and get it cleaned up good . Being aluminum I would guess...

Thanks , I wished there was a better way but I guess now that I have scraped down to the baked on stuff I will break out the pressure washer and try to get down to metal .
