Fuel Pump leak after Rebuild

I just rebuilt my fuel pump due to an issue with diaphragm deterioration. It was flaking off and plugged one of the jets in the carb. I used a Napco rebuild kit. Since rebuild, the pump has leaked....

Gregg, Thanks so much for sending those. That is very helpful. I did find a listing for a rod with the gears on eBay for a 1947. Rod width is too wide, but thinking I can cut it down and weld it back...
