Re: 1955 Ford stationwagon

Haha, Good eye Dave. You caught both of my little "modifications"...

You mentioned remote radios. I use the stock radio's on/off switch only to turn on a receiver under the seat and a Blue Tooth...

Re: 1955 Ford stationwagon

I, for one, like the looks of the '55 dash. Here is a picture of the dash in my '55 Ranchwagon.

Re: Model A Marine Engine

s.e.charles, I would venture to guess that since that post and link are almost 6 years old it is no longer good or the picture has been moved or removed?

Leave the Y-Blocks out of it......

Re: Blown HG results

Mike, I think you misunderstood what I said. If you have the 5.5 head you should use the Model "B" gasket, #573C not the 509. https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/high-compression-head

Re: Blown HG results

Mike, I don't see it mentioned but if you have a 'high compression' head a Best 573 gasket is recommended either copper or Graphtite®.

Re: Battery in wrong

That is incorrect. The starter does not care about the polarity. My starter ran happily at 12v negative ground for many years. The generator would work fine if you 'polarize' for negative ground.

Re: Fuel Fitting Question

The fitting you have appears to be the new type fitting that comes with the gas lines that the vendors are selling. They have the ferrules connected to the fitting and (supposedly) break off when...

Re: Oil pan baffle

I find it amazing how many people put a bolt in that plug hole to "hold the oil pump". A local 'machinist' did that to my block (among other things I wasn't thrilled about) that I had main bearings...

Re: FYI - 6 Volt Bulbs

Thanks for the info Mike. Yes, I am running the 75 cp for low beam and 50 cp for high beam. I never tied low and high together for 125 cp high beam because I don't drive at night that much and I felt...

Re: FYI - 6 Volt Bulbs

Mike, If I remember correctly you mentioned installing "Skew Caps" in the past. I am running Ron Francis Brite Bulbs (125/75 CP) and was wondering if I installed "Skew Caps on the bulbs it would cut...

Re: Model A Charcoal Heaters

I have seen those on ebay from time to time. I almost bought one just for display. Wouldn't think they would be too safe in a enclosed car.:p:p

FYI, Not all dead blow hammers are all plastic. I have a really nice Snap-on ball peen dead blow hammer that I use all the time. Works great with an impact driver.

I think as Brent says that the main thing is to...
