Got the grandson fired up today , cleaning off the wall and converting to just "Flathead Ignition " stuff . Seems like thats all i actually have time to do..:eek::)

I kinda think the condensor next to the regulator is NOT the ignition condensor....Condensor is attached to the distributor housing , these hardly ever fail ...

Feeling a little "crabie" again today........behind as usual so i just pulled 5-6 plates from the stack and started installing CS47 sets from napa. I think one of the better things i have learned...

Sunday morning getting it done , another good helmet ..........:)

4800 or so rpm , dwell=36 degrees and advance is a steady 18 degrees , check !!!!!!!

Got to be carefull with the change in Standard , the actual standard point set can be a cheaper set of contacts. Standard offers a couple grades of points and the lower set is NOT the Echlin set. I...

The FA54 condensor is a very good unit from NAPA.

The pertronixs elec conversion is very good as well IF its 12 volts with a [/U[U]]alternator. ...

WE USE A PRIMER CALLED "TRANSTAR" FROM THE PARTS STORE, KINDA EXPENSIVE ( 23 A CAN) BUT THE VERY BEST..LEAVES FINISH THATS HARD AND LOOKS LIKE A FACTORY PULLEY PAINT ..:eek:

Would be a napa number if you are using the vintage unit . Might see tub man here on the forum he makes the big brass ones. If its a later unit you would use a RR175 Napa unit.
