Re: carb leaking gas, what did I do wrong?
Regarding #11....a V8 60 does not have a separate f/p stand....the stand is integral with the intake. Terry has good ideas as always but my offer works best if I can put
the patient on the table...

Re: Chevy/8BA distributors
Ham,
It's a typo. As long as the Chevy dist core is not HEI and has a the window cap
we're good to go. I think my mistake was Delco went to alum from iron in '65 or there
abouts.

Re: Chevy/8BA distributors
Deming,
Ship the Pert at your convenience. Be sure you get the Pert that reads the breaker cam, that does away with the reluctor ring. Take the time to discuss the correct coil to use...

This is the other Charlie...from NY.
My rule of thumb regarding excessive clearance between the throttle shaft and it's
bore in the base is to remove the shaft and check the bore at both ends...

Re: ported vacuum
The 8BA distributor is 100% vacuum controlled, no mechanical adv at all. It's design
is for use with venturii vac from above the throttle plates of a single 94 style carb.

I'm probably wrong but I thought the number was the octane not % of alky. It seems
to me (4) 94's will...
