Did a ‘42 pickup come with a fan shroud?

I have one that came off a ‘42 I sold years back, I don’t know if I should list it as “will work for” or as a ‘42-7 PU shroud.

Thanks

Re: Head Bolt continually weeping

Seems it may be a fresh engine, shouldn’t be tough to remove the studs. Are those studs SS? The nuts look like they are, but the studs have a dull iron look to them?

Re: Brain Fade!

I’ve a “friend” who routinely makes great double flares when making up brake lines. My “friend “ has routinely tossed the lines after making the length perfect. My “friend “ does forget to put the...

Re: 1945 1/2 ton Pickup Tire Help needed

Oh, I’m pretty sure the “h78” would not be original, even if 15inch is.

Re: 1945 1/2 ton Pickup Tire Help needed

Ya know, out back I have what I think was the original spare, or original tire on the wheel, that was on a ‘42 I had. It is 15inch. Same family of pickups, but I don’t know what was available as...

Re: Cam clean-up?

Interesting discussion, but I look at it like a bearing race, even cleaned up and polished, I wouldn’t use it.

Now I can see if your wallet is empty and you need to get an engine running to get...

35 pickup pass side front fender

Can send you a pic via email, pretty decent, but won’t ship, don’t have the time, so you’ll need to pick it up, or have a buddy get it and ship to you. I need to see it go to use, hence the price. ...

Re: Do Bronco drums work on 46-8 hubs?

I was in a rush when I replied earlier, so what I came across while searching ((and what I misunderstood) was using some year of F100 backing plates on 40-48 spindles, then using Bronco drums. I...

Re: Do Bronco drums work on 46-8 hubs?

I did some more searching, seems I was wrong about using Bronco drums, as noted they weren’t 12 inch, so back to the drawing board;)

Thanks

Re: Welding a bumper

There ya go. Weld it with what you have and paint it up. It’s not like it’s going to do much help in a crash;)

Re: Magna flux tool

I think you are correct. My shop let me use their “portable” unit several years ago while I was hunting for a intake manifold. It was a square U shape, with legs about 4 or 5 inches apart. They...

Re: Do Bronco drums work on 46-8 hubs?

Oh, I don’t think that could be placed outside, due to the steel ring on the later hubs. I was thinking/ wondering if they (Bronco) would work behind the hubs

Re: Do Bronco drums work on 46-8 hubs?

Yes. That’s what I’m wondering as well. Both styles are different, and has been explained to me can be interchanged. But I’m wondering if there might be an offset or interference issue. ?

Re: Welding a bumper

I assume your going to have it chromed? If so, weld it up but don’t try to grind it down before taking it in, let the chrome shop do it. If you’re going to paint it then get after it.

Do Bronco drums work on 46-8 hubs?

I think I read here that some early 12 inch Bronco drums work on 40/41 hubs, but will they also work on 46-8 hubs?

My drums are marked 12.090 and I really wasn’t concerned when I got them as I...

Re: Center main blowout

I’d suggest taking a file to the corners of the cap and block areas , just the ends to take a possible high spot/ burr off. I do it with all my main caps and block, as well as the rods, even after...

Re: What hub/drum assy do I have here?

I had heard that, but was also told at one time the drum/hub needed to also match the backing plate aNd brakes as well?
