Crab Style Distributor Help

Hi,

I have a '48 Flathead which has a front mounted, crab style distributor. It has been retrofitted with a Pertronix Electronic Module (replacing the points).

Just out of curiosity, some of the bolts (in the center of the cab) have no springs while the bolts at either end have springs. How is this supposed to work? I would have thought solid throughout...

I've decided to TIG weld a set of bolts for my truck. I can get the exact length I need and use fine thread "donor bolts". I will fab up a little "jig" to ensure...

Thanks to all of you for your help - BTW, I talked to Mike and although they used to sell these (they were in the old Roy Nacewicz catalogue) he had to discontinue them as they were almost impossible...

On my 39 Pickup, there are several cross frames, but it also uses a "wood kit" on the frame.

If it is "as built - mine was not", the floor of the bed should be steel like a modern pickup truck,...

I considered putting hoses on the bottom which had a "step" in them, but there is only about 2 inches from the face of the outlets on...

When I bought my pickup it had a radiator in it that seems to fit well, except for one small problem, the lower outlets are about 1 1/2" lower than the water pump inlets.
