Re: Car Show Yesterday

I try to hit some shows but try not to enter to be judged. Found that a lot around here were put on by local car clubs and that unless you were in the club had little chance of winning anything. So...

Re: 1955 ford wagon hood springs part #

Do not think so. The T-bird has spiral wound springs instead of coil wound spring. similar to a tape measure.

Re: Body to Frame isolators

Yes it came with a position diagram but does not say what the orientation of the rubber idolators are for installing on the pad. just SWAG I would guess they go on as in figure one.

Body to Frame isolators

So got a kit to redo the body to frame rubber mounting pads. The only thing that came with it was a parts list and diagram where they go. Not the orientation of them. So in the pic should they go as...

Re: Twist clips?

Yeah hard to find. May well be drilling small holes and using sheet metal screws. Everything these days is plastic push pins.

Re: 1955 Ford Ranch Wagon/ Vintage Air Question?

On the glove box, I just fiberglassed over the glove box because it was in pretty bad shape. Now if I need to cut and fit a A/C it is easy to do.

Re: 1955 Ford Ranch Wagon/ Vintage Air Question?

Is this a universal unit? I ask because I have a 56 that I am looking to install air shortly and do not see on their site of one made for that year other then a pickup.

Re: installing inner fenders

Not really sure what you are asking. Is this about the inner fender that hold the ventilation intake? If so that only bolts to the fender itself not the firewall. Also not sure what you mean by...

Re: Ventilation connector?

Should have included a pic. I like the idea of a piece of rubber. I probably can find a sheet metal place to make up one but might be costly.

Re: Fender hardware

Not a show car in any way. Way to many mods on it for that. Was just wondering if using 5/16x18 in place of 5/16x24 was detrimental in any way to the strength.

So in putting back together my fender I am thinking of going to all new hardware. The bolts that came off the fender were 5/16x24. So is it okay to replace with 5/16x18?. I can get those anywhere but...
