Question Re: 5.0L timing

Well, that seems to be the problem. Reading your posts, you do not get it or ever had it for that matter.

Retaining water this week? Maybe a pressure pump and a barrel of MIDOL will clear you out...

Exclamation Re: PRESSURE GAUGE ABRUPTLY BOTTOMS OUT BELOW 1000 rpm

- FORGOT -

Make sure the connector has no oil due to the sensor leaking. Also check the harness to see if oil wicked up it. Use electric contact cleaner to remove any oil.

Thumbs up Re: PRESSURE GAUGE ABRUPTLY BOTTOMS OUT BELOW 1000 rpm

Make sure it is a MOTORCRAFT switch as aftermarket has been giving trouble.

Also, read in your research about oil pressure failure in this engine series.

Question Re: 1955 F-100 5.0L timing

How in the world did a very simple question (arriving at peak timing using manifold vacuum) turn into a total ignition theory discussion?

You can operate a fully mechanical...

Post Re: speedo gear-in tranny

You have the SERVICE REPLACEMENT PLATE that replaced the earlier style plates (1954/57). The first release had one reinforcing ring. I have the TSB for that setup. FORD then re-released the same...

Thumbs up Re: speedo gear-in tranny

No reason to be sorry. Yours is the service replacement. The originals were subject to failure.

Now there were two versions released, the first with just one center reinforcing ring and its...

Thumbs up Re: PRESSURE GAUGE ABRUPTLY BOTTOMS OUT BELOW 1000 rpm

Yeah, because it is tied to the PCM (POWER-TRAIN CONTROL MODULE). It will stop the engine if it doesn't see correct oil pressure.

If you GOOGLE the year truck/engine and the problem, you will find...

Thumbs up Re: California pcv ??

That should do it along with the original filter. You don't want splash collecting in the crimped off tube.

Keep an eye on the filter material as it will need to replaced over time.

When...

Question Re: California pcv ??

But you understand what I am tying to describe?

Below is an ILL of a late 5.0L EFI PCV install that has a separator under the actual valve. It is a wire mesh type filter -

Without that...

Red face Re: 641/2-65 mustang top.

I didn't read your post fully. Are you describing the actual cover or hardware?

As mentioned is it manual or power? Possibly converting to power with a kit?

Post Re: 641/2-65 mustang top.

The FORD MASTER PARTS CATALOG shows no difference between the early model 64 1/2, 65 or 66. If there was a difference, it most likely would have been deleted from cataloging due to part...
