Re: Would leaving the ignition on cause damage to the coil?

As to what to do with your key when not driving, I hang mine on the throttle rod, as it is in the up position and the key ring slides on the nicely. The key is readily accessible from there.

Re: We'd like to meet other Model Aers

Not Model A, but I highly recommend that you take some time while in the Phoenix area to visit Ernie Adams, DWARF car maker. Check him out on youtube or his web site. He is about an hour south and...

Re: Throttle rod length?

It is easy to bend these with a box wrench... wrapped around the end... just use the wrench as a lever and they will bend relatively easily.

Re: Carby to manifold bolts

You can 'weld' up the holes using those aluminum type filler rods, using just a propane torch and then drill and re-thread the holes.

Re: Metal coupe or wooden wagon?

Our club chose to go the pre-made huckster body from Van Lente, Michigan. It was an easy install on a finished frame, using the coupe pillar from the original vehicle.

Re: Steering Column Adjustment

It depends on which steering box you have. Early boxes, seven tooth, cannot be adjusted in that respect. With two tooth, loosen the clamp bolt just above the gear box and rotate the outer sleeve...

Re: Head Still On, ... Cleaning Carbon

Use Seafoam as recommended above. With the engine running, and a small flexible tube in the vacuum port on the intake manifold, just put the tube into the bottle of Seafoam and it will be sucked up...

Re: Getting my 1931 Model A Coupe go start

I too think the starter switch may be the issue. Remove the switch (shiny piece on top of starter) and then jumper the battery cable to the copper disk on the starter unit. The starter should spin...

Re: 1930 Sport Coupe at auction

As it is a cabriolet, it has a small premium over some other models. I would still say, that in the condition I see and the unknowns, I would value it at $4-8,000.

One of my club's car games is to shut off the valve and time how long it takes to have the engine quit running. Amazingly some never stop running... guess they need to rebuild the shut-off as it...

Re: what should be done when the engine is out?

Stop drill small holes at the ends of the cracks in the motor mounts and then weld them up.
