Woops. My bad. Diameter of the fan blades, i.e. the diameter of the circle the fan blades make when rotating.

I'm turning 90 and I just bought a basically complete V8 60HP with the transmission attached. Nice basically clean engine except it is very dusty, but I'm gonna love cleaning it up for display only....

Re: rotor to inner distributor clearance

Just make sure you can turn the rotor all the way around without hitting the terminals on the cap. You should be good to go. I don't think gap is THAT critical.
