Re: Spark Control . . .

The article is 100% the correct way to do it.

After retarding the advance don't forget to move the lever back to its happy spot, down because a retarded engine will run hotter.

Re: Removed engine; some improvements?

My flywheel had many more mico cracks. The guy that did my engine said that was not an issue. He resurfaced it and 9,000 miles later it still feels new.

Re: Driving at night - Charge and Ammeter Readin

That's very normal. A generator can not charge at low idle speeds, therefore the amps will read low or negative when stopped at a light.

Do a search on moving the generator "third arm".

Re: Old problem but new twist? Coolant loss

Don't loosen, just retorque them.

I also have a Bergs, new pump and a new head.

Fill it up with 50/50 yellow antifreeze and and just let it puke to its happy spot. I can not see the level in...

Re: Model "A" Era Accessories

Bob, in comparison how is the heat on that heater vs a Autolite or any other over the manifold heater? More heat, less heat?

Re: roadster top treatment?

Spray the entire top with Simple Green and use a fine but firm brush. The brush will raise the nap and make it look good and the SG will clean it.

Re: Radial Tires

My answer is who cares. Either one will outlast most of us. At least me.

Re: A paper towel stopped my car from running

That sounds like a lawsuit to me. I bet the directions on the quicker picker upper bag did not say "not for use on distributor cleanup".:D

Re: Hi compression head and stock ignition

I have the 6.1 and a Pertronix ignition and love it.

As said above I too run at about 9:30.

And yes, if the car is in a position to lighten the flywheel and install a v8 clutch then do it.

Re: Help! Tie rod end install

Chad, they should just slip over the ball, especially that you have lubed them.

For me it is already 100 % restored with that front left tire! Fill it up with gas and just drive into the sunset.

Re: Speedometer Repair

It really is not that difficult to buy the numbers decal kit and install your own clean looking numbers.

While you're in there you can clean it up the speedo.

31 Front spring shackles, how tight or lose?

Last winter I replaced my 31 front spring shackles and did some work on the spring.

Today I noticed when lifting the car on the lift, or lifting each side with a jack, the shackles didn't move the...
