Werner, I don't have the Cessna 172 any longer. I lost it in 1998 when a student and instructor that were leasing it out from me. While there were no injuries, the plane was wrecked. Only 400 hours...

Those parts in the pictures are bad! The bearings anyway. Look at the tapered hole and see if it is beaten, or worn out. If it is the drum will have to be replaced.
