Re: Where were Marvel-Schebler carbs made?

I was young. Burning the candle at both ends most of the time. A self taught IBM Mainframe computer geek. The factory building is still there last time I went by. It was an old building even back...

Re: Where were Marvel-Schebler carbs made?

I worked at Marvel Schebler in Decatur, Illinois from 1976 to 1980. I walked into the plant and there was a cart with several hundred Tillotson Model A carbs on it.

Re: Engine Rebuild Guide

Nice post Brent. Few people understand the costs of being in business today. If, I paid a premium price for a supposedly premium engine, and it gave me great service for 30-40k miles, I would be very...

Re: Engine sputters and dies when at high rpms and under load

There are some good points in this thread. Pardon the pun. :)

I've been in the thick of it all summer as we drove our coupe almost everyday for 30-150 miles. When the points close up, the points...

Re: 28 A, Bad shake... guidance please...

How much play is in the steering at the steering wheel? (Car on the ground) Correcting an incorrect Toe In setting has been known to eliminate the shimmy aka. "The Death Wobble". Check the simple...

Re: Full Front Suspension Rebuild

Contact Travis at A-Springs.com. American made and I'm pretty sure he supplies the vendors. He'll tell you how to get it ready to install and send a page of instructions. I just bought and installed...

Re: Wheel Washers

I re-torque my lug nuts every 2 - 300 hundred miles, or whenever I'm going to be out running at higher speeds for a significant length of time. I've waited too long in the past and lost a lug nut...

Re: Front end shimmy

I read somewhere recently that proper setting of the toe-in can sometimes resolve shimmy, even if other parts are worn. Not sure about the braking type shimmy, but would be worth a try if the toe-in...

Re: wont fire

I believe this picture originated from Tom Wesenberg, but I copied (control/c) it from a thread on this forum called "Rotor Position Question" and pasted it into the post.

Re: Can't get engine started after changing timing gear

I congratulate you on your success. I like your approach with a new thread for the sputtering.

I bought my coupe at the beginning of March and it took 2 months to get it to run right. So...

Re: 1929 double a won't start, help

Dan, JG61, the model B engine has a different pattern to the water pump bolts. The A is mounted with 4 bolts and the B engine has 3. A picture of the water pump and its mounting will tell the tale on...
