Re: Fuel Shut-off Valve Barrel Valve taper

Re: Purchasing a Model A Jack

Yes, Don or Gary Johnson are the go-to guys that are both very knowledgeable. Give either or both a call as they are very personable.

Re: Just purchased and New Berg Radiator Wow

Most antifreeze coolants do not increase boiling points unless they are under pressure. Straight water has a greater surface tension so you receive better (-more efficient) heat transfer.

Re: Non-Authentic Paint Schemes

Jeez Bob, what's the hurry buddy? If you are in a hurry and want to see unauthentic or incorrect paint jobs on Model-As, just go to Google and type in 'Model-A' in the search bar. About 90% of the...

Re: 31 Roadster Question

Actually, there is no such thing as a "sub-rail". It is a Sill Assembly (A-40030-B/-40031-B), -or Sills for short.

Re: Non-Authentic Paint Schemes

You are correct in that the A was somewhat of a failure as far as ROI was concerned however I am now wondering, was there any US-manufactured vehicle during that same or later era whose production...

Re: Non-Authentic Paint Schemes

I am not so sure Tutt knew what he was talking about. Go look at other marques of vehicles of the same vintage and you will see quite the contrary. Ford built to his socioeconomic market, ...and...

Re: Transmission Bearings?

It has been my experience that probably 1 in 5 flywheel housings are straight and do not need machining. Maybe yours was one of those five.

Generally speaking, when the pilot bushing is worn,...

Re: Fan and Water Pump power consumption?

Playing Devil's Advocate, are you wasting energy trying to save energy? The pump impeller is not creating pressure per se', so there is minimal power consumption there, ...and at what speed does...

Mike, personally I think my recommendations are gonna go against the grain of what others here are going to suggest, but IMO you first need to decide whether the intent is to get there as fast as you...

Re: Dented 1929 gas tank

The biggest issue with using the stud gun as Bill suggested is tha in in this particular dent, a lot of stretch has been added that when you start lifting the metal, there is nowhere for it to go...

Re: In search of Stainless Steel hardware.

Chris, I have found the issue with bolts weeping is generally caused by a cumulation of minor issues. Most of the time when a file is drawn around the differential housing bolt holes, you will find...

To a certain extent what you are saying is 'kinda accurate'.

While the new wheels are expensive, nice original wheels are NOT that easy to come by. So when you purchase wheels (-inclusive of...

Re: Headliner 1930 Tudor top bow spacing

When we sew the listing onto the headliner, we need to know the exact measurement. The thickness fore & aft of each roof bow might only be off by 0.060 of an inch thicker than original, but when you...
