Re: ISO of a 1956 Ford Customline Victoria

Always my favorite '56 too. Good luck on the search. I'll keep my eyes open.

Re: Autolite 2100 vs 2150 carbureter question.

That's where dmfsrr said he thought the vacuum leak may be. Not on all the vacuum ports and connections.

Re: New to the Y Block

Beware that it's a 312. A lot of people say they have a 312 when in reality, they don't know what they have because they look the same.

Re: Paxton and McCullough Superchargers

"Can rams horns be used upside down?"

Ford Y-Blocks can mount exhaust manifolds upside down because the bolt pattern is in a straight line from front to back. The Lincoln Y-Blocks however were...

Re: Modern Carb kits for Holley 94

This is true, but I've never had a problem with the gaskets or fuel valves in the cheaper kits, and I've done quite a few. Power valves are another story.

Re: 351 Driving Me a Little Nuts

Barnstuf, if your interested, I have two NOS Holley four barrel carbs for an '86 Ford truck with a 351W engine. Holley number is E6HE-9510-AC. Holley number LIST 50305-2. You can have for a heck of a...

Re: Modern Carb kits for Holley 94

I've found that the cheaper kits are plenty good as far as the gaskets and float valves. The part that needs to be the best quality is the power valve, which can be purchased from Daytona Carburetor...

Re: Difficult selling on barn?

I've sold a few things in the swap meet section, but it's been over a few years. Mostly carburetors.

Re: F-100 Holley 1940 carb

Your rebuilder's idea of adding a fuel filter to keep the fuel in the carb from going away makes no sense to me. Even if it were possible for the carb to siphon the fuel backwards back into the fuel...

Re: engine compartment paint color

The wagon we are talking about was originally black underbody, and the interior floor and firewall were body color (Aquatone blue).

Re: 56 ford carb swap

Because the original carb (Teapot style) is tall and the original oil bath air cleaner drops down below the 5" neck of the carb, it will not work with a more modern Holley. Not sure about the T-Bird...

Re: Merc Then and Now

Thanks Ralph. I know the Canadian cars in general changed the trim some. But I never knew the '53 Canadian Pontiac used the Chevy sheet metal and taillights.
I know Canadian Chrysler products in the...

Re: Merc Then and Now

Nice Ralph. I like the car in the background too. Appears to be a Canadian '53 Pontiac ? Has '53 Chevrolet taillights.

Re: engine compartment paint color

Steve, one thing I noticed that was different when I had the wagon, is that the firewall was painted body color (Aquatone blue) but where the firewall met the floor pan the underbody was painted...

Re: The GREAT Introducing Ms. American 3.14159 Caper

I've seen those manual choke set ups for the 4100's on EBAY before. Somebody must reproduce them. I believe it's identical to the ones on 289 Hi Po's.

Re: 56 crown vic glass top

I'm sure there are some fakes out there since they only built about 600 of them with the glass top in '56. I'm sure a real one is very valuable. If it's one that has been converted from a steel top,...

Re: Stromberg BIG 97

I think there were also different venturi sized small base 2 GC's, since they went on a lot of different size engines on GM and marine engines.
So probably the 2GC's from larger engines flowed 275...

Re: Stromberg BIG 97

The 2"hg depression being talked about is how a flow stand is set up to measure total CFM air flow capacity at a manufacturer's facility or other business. 2"hg is the same as 2" of manifold vacuum...

Re: 37 Hump conversion to Flatback

Maybe it's doable easily with Photshop, but there is a major difference in the contour of the sheet metal below the back window. The entire back section would have to be swapped with one from a slant...
