Starts and then stops

1948 starts the shuts down.
Has gas and points have voltage but doesn’t seem to go through to other half.

Crack block repair question

I’ve heard that cracks between exhaust valve and cylinders can be repaired. Will these repairs last or should I look for a good block.

I took the axles to a local machine shop yesterday. They told me essentially the same thing, space out the seal to area on axle without wear.

The axles have 18 tooth gears and are approximately 32 1/2 inches each.

The axles in my 1939 pick up show some wear in the area of the grease seals (see picture). I'm not sure that a new seal will help or if I should I replace the axles. What are your thoughts. ...
