Re: fuel pumps?

This thread is quite useful. It covers a lot of other things that you weren't inquiring about, but is handy to reference from time to time depending on what you;re working on.

Re: Speedometer 1950 F3

You might also want to remove the speedo and lubricate it with a light oil (sewing machine oil?). The one in my 50 Custom Deluxe also bounced around (at low speeds) and made noises. There should be...

Re: Fall 2020

The colors of the car and the leaves go well together! :D
Beautiful scenery. The leaves are turning here in Michigan as well. Like last year, it seems like the colors are going to be very bright...

Re: Gas tank mounting conundrum

You might get more responses if you remind people what model you have. In a previous post, you mentioned that it is a 33 Tudor, but worth mentioning again.

I'm not familiar with these cars so I...

Re: Timing light

Habusailor,
I have a 40 year old Craftsman that is 12 volt. It will work with my 6V car, but the strobe is brighter if I attach the battery leads to a 12 volt battery instead of the 6V car battery....

Re: 1951 Ford overdrive

Mr Laser,
I'm not a photographer for sure. But these pix may help. The cable on mine comes out of firewall and arcs down to a clip on the steering gear. The other cable is speedo. Then it...

Re: Stuck Valve

I have read posts on here where people were able to use various home recipes to free up a stuck valve. I tried those things, and going through the intake opening as you have. I let MMO, trans fluid...

Re: 1951 Ford overdrive

I'll take a couple of pictures that show how the rest of the cable is routed from the firewall down to the trans on mine. It's a pretty straight shot to that solenoid the way it's setup.

Re: 1951 Ford overdrive

Don't know if you still need a picture of that cable clip for the OD, but here's the one on my '50 Custom Deluxe. Haven't found a part number though. Have you checked with Mac VanPelt?

Re: Bosch blue coil in a v8 ??

I'm pretty sure that the 1.5 ohm coil is for 6 volt electrical systems and the 3.0 ohm coil is for 12 volt systems. I also understand that using copper core wires may cause problems with their...

Re: electrical issue

Keep at it. This "book" has helped me a couple of times recently. I'll see if I can post the main diagram that might help see how it all connects. You may also be able to grab the diagram itself...

Keep in mind that it's been documented that a spacer that has the divider just like the intake ports works better for our two barrel Flatties as documented by JWL in his Flathead Facts book.

Re: holly 94 rebuild kit

Jerry,

Be aware of the fact that not all power valves for the 94 are created equal. The one you want needs to have a completely flat surface where it mates up to the bottom of the carb. Newer...

Re: spark plug reach

Gary,

I believe the Offy heads come in 2 or 3 chamber volumes as you are no doubt aware. Would that also affect the reach of the same plug in the various head cc options?
