Re: 1939 Pickup Headlight buckets

The 38 and 39 pickups buckets were also the same size as the 40/41 truck buckets that had a factory seal beam. The headlight stands for the 40/41 were the same dimensionally as the ones for the 38/9...

Re: 1947 1 1/2 ton truck...maybe?

alanwoodieman….Thank you for your response. The pictures of 47's I found online showed the filler neck on the passenger side. The truck my neighbor has apparently had the filler neck removed and the...

1947 1 1/2 ton truck...maybe?

One of my neighbors has a 1 1/2 ton truck that he believes to be a 1947 Ford. It is an 8 cylinder flathead. It is 134 inch wheelbase with a dual rear end. Where is the gas tank supposed to be on a 47...

Re: 1936 ford pickup

I do not believe that 36 model year had a 60hp engine option. The 37 frame should have the mounting holes for the 36 pickup cab and sheet metal. The brake mechanism is not the same but if you are...

Re: 35-37 ford pickup question

Based upon just looking at the gauge setup, the 35 and 36 have three holes for the instruments, a large one in the center for the speedometer and a smaller one on each side of the speedometer for the...

Re: 1936 ford pickup

Highland Rich...There are a lot of people on Fordbarn whose skill sets and knowledge far exceed mine. The 35 through 37 frames from either a passenger car or pickup will have the holes tapped for the...

Re: Another banjo wheel question

Ray...The 37 horn rod will not interchange with a 35 if using a 35 steering wheel. The 35 horn button end is significantly larger in diameter.

Re: Oldest daily driver... with highway speeds

I was having problems with my 2003 Ford F-250. Had to replace the fuel pump. The pump is inside the tank which had a bit over 30 gallons of fuel in it when it pooped out. That was not a whole lot of...

Re: Roy Nacewicz

Very sorry to read that. We had numerous conversations over the years when I called to order items. He was always helpful with suggestions even when he didn't have what I needed, which was rare....

Re: Sealed beam headlights for a 36 V8 Sedan.

I was at Dennis Carpenter's NOS parts area while at Charlotte this week. They had a couple of the 40-41 truck factory seal beam buckets there among quite a few 36 head light buckets. The 40-41 truck...

Re: Wide5 wheel studs, need some

I have a variety of NOS ones. I am around 1000 miles from home and my parts/parts book, but off the top of my head I thought the studs were not all the same. The ones that go on the spare mounting...

Re: Adjusting Engine to Frame Strut Rods

I took a 3/8 inch ratchet extension and ground down the socket end to the correct size to fit into the square. It took less than a minute, was inexpensive, durable, and allowed the use of a ratchet...

Re: Repop headlight lens issue

KCTA Chris...I went out in the storage building and pulled out two Vintique headlight lenses that I bought years ago, both still in the original clear plastic wrapper. Both of the ones I have are...

Re: Cut out on '39 generators?

Didn't the 39 have both an "ammeter" and a "battery" gauge available? Were those for the different generator setups?

Re: 35 ford four door

Withrick….I have a 37 half-ton stake street rod that color yellow. I like it. My wife picked out the color, I said, "yes ma,am" and it's been that color since the mid '90's. When I park it out in the...

Re: Dome LIght and Rear View Mirror help....

I wonder if the holes pictured above the rear window opening may have been for the optional rear slider window that was available for those models. There was a knob that acted as a lock of sorts.

Re: Removal and Replacement of Locking Hubcap Cover???

It took me a long time to find a correct 35 pickup locking spare. It even had the key and the lock worked. I looked it over for quite a while and decided I didn't think I had the skills to do the...

Re: elling my stash

I accumulated a lot of pickup parts for 35-37's and 39's over the years. I had parts hanging in the shop, in two storage buildings, upstairs in my daughter's old bedroom, in the attic, under the beds...

Re: 35 pu

There is around a 6 inch, maybe more, difference in the location of the 35 pickup column drop/switch/key and the 35 passenger car. The pickup is significantly closer to the steering wheel. The 39...

Re: Olds in a 1939 Ford Coupe

I had a 34 Ford 2 door sedan with a 425 Olds, tri-power, and an automatic back in 1969. Used one of the pumpkin rear ends out of a late 50's Olds. Ran cheater slicks. Zero interior except for a...

Re: 35 pu

The 35 pickup does not have the key mechanism and column mount in the same location as the passenger car for the same year so the steering column tubes do not interchange from passenger car to pickup...
