Re: Exhaust manifold for model B engine

The Model B exhaust manifold will bolt right on to a Model A motor. The problem comes from the fact that the Model B manifold exhaust pipe goes down at about 45 degrees while the Model A goes...

Re: Title goes with Frame or Engine?

You should check the law about re-stamping the frame.

Re: Safest Way to Buy a Car Long Distance??

Start by checking the seller out here and on HAMB. Post the location and maybe someone knows the car or will go look at it.

Re: Model A Distributor with Centrifugal Advance

I solved the condenser problem by using a high quality Model A condenser from Brattons. I elongated the hole in the tab and added a pig tail. It went right in (see photo). I bought several sets of...

Re: Headlights

If you mount the sealed beam behind a glass lens the lens will defocus the beam making it hard to see.

Re: brake drums

When I replaced my shoes several years ago the drums wouldn't fit. Turned out the company that manufactured the shoes assumed that everyones drums would be at least .030 out, mine were NOS. Sent...

Re: Garage lights

I found the best price at Costco. Their lights were made by Feit electric. Savings are dependent upon how much time you spend in the garage. I replaced all of the lights in my house and garage and...

What is that and where does it go? Not important but I am curious.

Re: Mismatched drums won't fit

If the shoes are too thick they won’t go over the drums even when the adjusters are as far in as possible. Arcing solves this problem (plus allowing for full contact of the shoe on the drum).
He...

Re: Mismatched drums won't fit

Did you have the shoes arced to the diameter of the drums? That would result in the problem you are describing. The only problem you might have with the drums that have the hub on the outside is...

Re: What type of Fan Blade do you recommend

The four blade was introduced in 1933 for the 4 cylinder. It became the dealer replacement for 1928-1934 Fords. The part number is 46-8600 and you can find it in the Green Bible.

Re: Headlight question

It is also good to point out the the small bulb was used on standard cars that did not have cowl lights. The small bulb and sock will not be found in the cars with cowl lights.

Re: 3.78 vs 3.54 rear end and speedometer/miles

Re: 3.78 vs 3.54 rear end and speedometer/miles

Buy the correct speedometer gear for the 3.54. I think Bratton's has them. Get the whole assembly, don't buy the new gear for your housing.

Re: 1930 Roadster on ebay. Thoughts please.

Be sure to grease the skids by calling the California DMV. Get names if possible.

I noticed the VIN is 2910 which is obviously not correct. You might want to dig into that a little
