I remember using a long pipe slipped over the breaker bar when I removed mine. It worked...but boy it was on there tight. Hang in there Frank...I'm rootin' for ya!

Frank, It very well could be the original timing gear. I believe if you look at around 7:30 on your timing gear you'll notice the machined "dimple" on the outer ring (near teeth). The crank gear...

Frank, Does your spare Model B engine have the timing gear cover and timing gear inspection cover on it? If the front of the spare engine is accessible...you could remove the inspection cover to...

Look at the picture that DavidG posted above, now read his post. He has clearly pointed out what you should do next. Remove the timing gear inspection cover (2 bolts shown in the picture...
