Thanks for all of the input. I went with ni-copp from the sediment bowl/filter to the pump mounted on the frame and up to the regulator on the firewall. Then hose from the regulator to the carb....

I have a Revolution Electronics fuel pump controller on the way. It works off tach signals to keep pump running.

Ok, sounds like I have a plan. Dig up my old head nuts and lose the brass.
And yes I did check the manifolds with a straight edge. Could see no gap.
