Re: Need Help in Identifying Location of Short

Sorry, Jim. BO is a term we use at work when something is not working correctly/needs repair or is in "Bad Order".

Sounds to me as if you have something connected incorrectly or your switch is BO and leaking thru. With switch off there should be zero voltage at the points, if you car is wired correctly.

Do you...

I don't use a gasket, just a dab of the 'Right Stuff'

Re: Grease

Haha, That's because moderns, like most things these days, are considered "disposable".  Part goes bad, R&R it.

Re: Grease

The advantage I see with the more modern fittings is they have a ball check valve to help keep moisture and dirt out of the fitting. While the older fitting does have a ball check valve, it is...

Re: Now What, should this be???

How's that? You would still have to remove the fan to tighten the screws?

Re: Cannot Get Rebuilt Ignition Cable to Read 6 Volts on the Points

Sounds to me like the wire from the lower plate is broken/disconnected from the upper plate/points. Pull the upper plate and check the wire.

OR

You have a wireless piece o' junk lower plate...

Re: Steering Box LEAKS!!

I find that not to be entirely true. After sitting a while, Penrite has a lighter oil that collects on top and finds it way out the sector shaft on my car. This is after going to the trouble of...

Re: Lighting for speedometer and gas gauge

I guess it may depend on the style of dash light, the '28-29 or the '30-31. I use a 'soft warm' LED in my '30 and it works fine. I imagine if you didn't have the cover on it, it may be a different...

Re: Lightened Flywheel

Re: Clutch release arm pin removal
