Re: LED head lights

Badpuppy, the lights in that link are for signals, parking, etc. They are to be seen, not to see with.It says that in the rap sheet,so focus is not an issue with those. Those aren't the headlight...

Re: 1931 slant windshield townsedan

There are unimportant differences, fasteners and such, but the parts will interchange, unlike the earlier Briggs and Murrays. The old door window thing, straight top = Briggs, curved top = Murray does not...

Re: I think my exhaust valves are burnt

Before you get too carried away and start pulling the engine apart I think you should first pull the valve cover.Check the valve lash,if it has original lifters then you will have to pull the head to...

Re: Prices Up ?

It sounds like I'm not missing much without cable.I hear lots of stories about shows where people buy cars, machinery, motorcycles, antiques, etc. The most common thing I hear when people come here to buy...

Re: Prices Up ?

I think he thought he was going to get a rise out of me.I probably took his fun away when he found that I hoped the guy that bought my car made something on it.I do know people that get very upset if...

Re: Prices Up ?

I don't really know why the guy called me to tell me.I sold the car,and got what I wanted. The guy that called me had nothing to do with it,it was like he was stirring the pot,but there is no pot to...

Re: Prices Up ?

Somebody reading this thread just called me and said the Roadster I sold was just sold on ebay for a lot more than I sold it for.He said, what do you think of that? I said if it didn't suit him I'm...

Re: Prices Up ?

I sold this coupe about 10 years ago,$8000.Rust free, had been stripped to bare metal, and left in a garage. It was straight. It had a never started Sears reman engine, for what that is worth.(zero to...

Re: Prices Up ?

I don't mind telling the prices I got,but I don't because the buyers might not like it.The two I sold might have been considered barn cars,(well, that's where I got them) but they were turn key...

Re: Prices Up ?

I just sold two of my A's.An unrestored roadster and a unrestored Tudor. Both were being driven regularly.I set my prices on them, and when the right ones came along they bought them.I was getting some...

Re: Help Identify 31 Slant Window Fordor

The old, arched is Murray and straight is Briggs is not a factor on slant windshield cars. That applies to straight windshield cars only.On the slant cars the parts will interchange between...

Re: Tudor Value

The low end for cars like that around here are set by the street rodders.I sold one for a woman a few years ago. They bought it in 1972,and the babbit was knocky. He used it around town until 2014,then...

Re: LED vs HALOGEN

The set I've been fooling with here are the ones from Australia.I like them.I want to get a few sets for myself, but getting them seems to be a major operation. My friend told me it took him a while to...

Re: Need Help with Model B Carb

It's been a while since I had a B carb apart. But,I think the throttle shaft can't really be soldered up and filed like the A.I think it has a step,or cut out in it,and a passage in the body that...

Re: Headlight Bulb Filament Orientation

The LED's don't have filaments. The only thing they have in common with an incandesent is they both make light.None of the normal procedures apply to making them work correctly. When you hook the wires...

Re: LED vs HALOGEN

What is a surprise to me is that they are not polarity sensitive.I thought the very nature of a diode was to be one-way.From what I see most misinformation comes down the guy on the street from...

Re: LED vs HALOGEN

I didn't know they are sensitive to voltage spikes. The bulbs I bought from England don't care if you have 6 or 12 volts put to them. They are also not polarity sensitive. Those are the BA15-D part...

Re: Tire balancing with Hunter # 125B Tire Spinner Portable Wheel Spin Balancer

Re: Tire balancing with Hunter # 125B Tire Spinner Portable Wheel Spin Balancer

I still have one of those.I have a ring that will fit the 19 inch Model A wheel,BUT,the hubcap sticks out too far and you can't clamp the spinner on.They were actually becoming a problem in the...

Re: 1930 BB? What do we really have here?

The only thing I see that is B is the oil filler tube.I have two of those on my A's.It does have an indented firewall, you can see it in one of the engine pictures.

Re: What a good deal! 28 AA tanker

Bill, that's poor man's power steering.I drove a 62 International car carrier with manual steering. If I could I would load the car backwards, and leave it far back as possible.made a big difference in...
