Post Re: 57 custom steering gear

Very few modifications such as this are described here.

It is mostly a repair/resto type of forum.

Maybe try here - https://57fordsforever.com/smf/index.php

Thumbs up Re: Throttle Linkage '57 E-code Passenger Car

Sure, the 1949-59 FORD MASTER PARTS CATALOG.

FORD had a manual for the F-CODE, I am not sure about the E-CODE. There had to be at the least a SERVICE LETTER on setting one up.

Thumbs up Re: '57 T-Bird frame question

That's what I thought when I viewed the scan. It is early cataloging format. The CD set he bought must be different from most as they usually use the 1949/59 MPC FINAL ISSUE (1964) to copy.

I have...

Thumbs up Re: Checking radiator for overheating problem with 1956 Thunderbird

THANX! for that.

I guess the repros are alum? I have seen different older styles with some having the by-pass as a part of the casting?

BTW -

That one is pretty gnarly also ...

Red face Re: 79 granada engine noise

The only thing I could do is copy the pages from the WSM and mail them to you as my copier has a case of no-go.

Who would've thought -

They have other designs that also would not be conspicuous.

Thumbs up Re: '57 T-Bird frame question

Well ...

Now that I opened them and blew them up, they are FORD frame ILL's, same as the later MPC ILL's.

There had to be some type of SPECIALTY MANUAL for the BIRD.

THANX! ANYWAY

What...

Exclamation Re: Checking radiator for overheating problem with 1956 Thunderbird

Now that is gnarly but shows what else in the system may be corroded badly. One reason I hate worm clamps as other than appearance (not correct - gnarly) is that a big fella can put a lot of torque...

Thumbs up Re: 1956 Victoria overdrive

What Mike said. If it is a good one, don't let it get away.

The shift levers are different between FORD and BIRD but I would think you should be able to find them.

Post Re: Maximum acceptable temperature for 292 Y-block

Here's another little known factoid. Originally, these by-pass hoses (8597) were sold separate, the FORD/MERC having one length, BIRD another. They were of a thicker reinforced hose.

At some...
