Re: Brake light pressure switch

Because I use Dot5 I use the mechanical lever type switch from the early Chevy pickups. You can find them on e-Bay or at most local auto parts houses. Cost about $12-15.

Re: Any 52-54 Lincoln owners out there?

Also post your question on the Early Ford V-8 Club site(www.earlyfordv8.org). There's some Lincoln guys over there that can probably help.

Re: Ebay sales tax in place

The tax is assessed according to the state where the purchaser lives. It's the court ruling. Right now swap meets are the place to buy, but it probably won't be long before the tax man starts roaming...

Re: Time for Henry to come out of retirement.

Good thinking. It's even more important if you have no kids. Leaving a wife or significant other with unfinished projects is even worse.

Re: Ebay sales tax in place

In addition to e-Bay charging tax, so does Summit Racing. Tax was added to my last few orders from Summit. The states who charge sales tax took this issue to court and there was a court ruling on...

Re: 39 Ford Radio

Hard to give a value. Need to know if it works not. Even if it works it is probably only worth $25 or so.

Re: 39 Ford Radio

Not an original '39 Ford radio.. It's a universal under dash radio to fit many different cars of the era.

Re: 32 ford headlight parts

Run a want ad on this site and the Early Ford V-8 site for some junk lights. I'll bet somebody has some "beaters" with those parts. The commercial lights for '32 should use the same parts.

Re: Chassis paint recommendations?

I've used POR-15. Brush it on and it flows just like you sprayed it.

Re: Filmed at the Early Ford V-8 Foundation Museum

Where the young girl is sitting at the desk you can see a cardboard sign on the wall. That sign lists all the '36 body styles and there are white blocks where the dealer can fill in the prices on...

Re: Trunk side panels

Are they the side panels that cover the gap between the trunk floor and the quarter panel? If those are what you have they just screw down to the trunk floor with a sheet metal bolt. The panels...

Re: 6 volt turn signals ????

The use of front lights depends on the year of the car, From 1940 up you can use the parking lights. From 1939 back you can use the parking lamps in the head lights, but they get wiped out when the...

Re: 6 volt turn signals ????

I've used the VW turn unit on several occasions. They work excellent and can be painted the same color as the column. That switch was used on the bugs and the buses.
Another option is the toggle...

Re: Bulb removal on 36 coupe

The lens is supposed to be held into the rim by special clips. The reflector has a cork gasket to seal the lens to the reflector. Sounds like the prior owner was missing the gasket and the clips and...

I think I heard the same universal excuse used by the guy in Grants Pass, Oregon that rebuilds flatheads. Word travels fast when it comes to excuses.

Re: Bulb removal on 36 coupe

I would refrain from using any cleaner on the reflector. Wipe the dust off with a soft cloth and water.
