Frank Miller. How did you pull thr trans on your convt? Look like there is not enpugh clearance to pull it back because of the cross member. Kind looks like the bell housing needs to be pulled back...

My 50 Ford car has a cover over the trans. Need to lift the carpet. If you lift the carpet slow by working a scraper between the carpet and floor it can be done. Be careful and you my not damage the...

I would take the plugs out and see if the engine will turn with a breaker bar. If so spray some oil in each cylinder and turn the engine over a few times before replacing the plug so that you do not...

Seems to me some place back in time I read that the washers were made of lead. So solder may be the thing. Make a ring of solder and solder the ends together.

I have a 60A alternator. And put a voltmeter in the circuit. And reversed the directon of the wire goes through the stock amp meter.

Oil leak from drain plug

On a 1950 Ford. I have a oil leak from the drain plug. I have used a crush washer. Still leaked. I also annealed a washer. Did not fix the problem. Do not know if the problem is the plug or the pan....

So. If you are going from Dot 5 to 3 or 4 and flush out the lines with alcohol does it affect the rubber in the master cylinder and wheel cylinders? Or do you not flush the cylinders with alcohol?

Did you change the flex lines? I used a vacuum bleeder. Took some time to bleed them. Had to be done several times. The brake lines I flushed with acetone 1st than alcohol.

Yes. Its a 1950 Fod ragtop. If I can move the engine since I did not use a cherry picker how would I move the engine. I installed the engine several years ago and I had a problem aligining the fornt...

Thats the way I lifted the engine. But the bolt holes on the water pump is about 1/2 inches more forward than the motor mounts.

For a 1950 V8 Ford what is the trick getting the water pump aligned to the bolt holes of the motor mounts. I had replaced the water pumps.

My problem is trying to locate the hole in the water pump. If it means anything the radiator is still in the car.
