run a ground wire from one of the screws holding the gauge to the tank to a good clean location--grounded mine to the cab back wall with ign on, if you momentarily touch the gauge wire to this...

most trucks have a 5 quart capacity plus one for an oil filter. I have several 8ba engines and I run 20w50 kendall oil in all of my flatheads . if you decide to put an oil filter back on be sure...

there is a release lever built into the hood cross "T" it must have become separated or loose. when you close the hood this lever hits the brace behind the grill and allowed the handle to lock on...

working on fenders for a 52 truck and a 48 truck, cleaning up parts for my 41 1/2 ton panel. and fixing an aw sh!!t on a 221 motor--previous builder left out the oil...

insulate the thru shaft as they do leak!! use shrink tape and use two layers applied one at a time.

all used aluminum heads are subject to do that, last set I put on had 4 bad or suspect plug threads so I did all 8 with inserts to keep from what happened to you

that is the later model "power valve location" I think, got a couple of those myself, look on the bowl of the carb and tell us what is there and the one on your carb

my 40 wagon has high pressure 42 lbs radials from ecopia a brand of tire from Bridgestone/Firestone and I have put them on at least five others and they love the ride better than bias

this is what is used in the reproduction backing plates (Bolin Brothers) and yes they work great with ford drums/hubs

do you know for sure the year of the engine? what is on the heads A, 59ab, 8ba? carbs usually gunk up pretty easy with bad gas, drain out any existing gas. squirt some fresh gas down the carb bowl...

don't forget when you reassemble the pumkin to put brass washers under the nuts on the rear housing--turns out that was what was leaking on my 9"

over the fender creeper

anybody have any experience with one of these? HF, and some other cheap versions are around, I need to adjust valves on a 49 Ford truck and really don't want to lay on the fenders.

according to Lee Atherton, I purchased the last 13' of the brown fabric for my 40 Woodie years ago. We put it on in 1990. Hard to believe that timeline, anyway I do have some salvage from that...
