Quick update:

Replaced the switch, wire, coil and distributer with a rebuilt one. This thing runs like a champ. No knocks, engine runs great. My brother in law and I spent the afternoon...

I learn something new every day.......we had a '27 engine in our Hack, but I guess someone knocked out the casting and put on an earlier valve cover for the throttle rod.

There is already a hole in the block and valve cover right between #2 and #3 cylinders for the original throttle rod to go through. Any reason why you are thinking of using a cable?

Found a carb and installed it. No spark. Yippee. Time to learn all about the Model A ignition.

So far:

Battery is good
Wiring is correct

Ok guys, maybe I need a lesson on telling the differences in years on Model A's.

The owner tells me it's a '28, but it is possible he is wrong.

So - door handles are on '29s, and 28's came...

Looks like it just needs a carb - everything else is there. Needs paint, but everything...
