Stinger is a great piece of equipment but I recall $300-400 so need multiple use application
to be cost -effective I would suppose

I have a body shop tool called a Stinger
It will spot weld studs to bare metal. The studs are superficial and do not penetrate all way thru.
The studs can the be attached to a slide hammer

Re: HF infrared gun reviews

I wore one out. Bought another and failed to get one with a lighted read. Pay more and get one with the lighted background. Otherwise hard to read.
Don't know about the HF models.

Re: Hinge pins

Often, they get worn to the point of having a "shoulder" worn into the pin that hangs on the other hinge pieces.....if that makes sense.
Might help to take the pressure off the door a bit and try a...

Lever type latch on 28-29 open car

Were the levers plain or plated?
Iíve got one that I took apart and it never looks to have been plated
The other appears to have some plating on it
Were some plated others not?

Re: Prices Up ?

Solid, well maintained, attractive body style cars will be in demand. Restored or unrestored.

The secret is stock, solid, well maintained cars.

Re: Windshield frame to hinge seal

RJV, you are correct.

As to the seal in question, I have removed (and added back) something very akin to a thick friction tape in that area.

With greyhound I’ve had perfect results AND......
Horrible results too! Had a door shipped to me from Oregon to TN
Took 7 weeks! Greyhound was having me file a claim when it showed

Re: compressor water and moisture extractor

I made a condenser from a commercial air condition coil.
I “banked” it to accommodate the CFMs by basically dividing in half.
I have a large separator coming off it
Used it for 30 years and no...

Re: Rebuilding Roadster Door Latch

I read he is referring to latch, not hinge. John Holland, John Hash and myself I know rebuild those.

Re: Fordoor to Tudor

another vote that it is, in fact, a Tudor.
Fordor would have wooden sills, etc. Nothwithstanding that, it just appears to be a tudor. Would be very interesting to hear your bud's rendition of why he...

Re: What correct screws and/or fasteners are needed?

When I make Very small runs of things I then use a slotting saw to cut the screwdriver slot.
Not practical if making a bunch as you have to mount each item in a mill and slot it.
Time consuming

Re: Photo of 1931 4-Door With Blackwall Tires

White walls should be accompanied by curb feelers, mud flaps, mirror dice and interior air fresheners....

Re: 31 welled fenders

I’ve never seen the same things you’ve never seen!
Could tell more by seeing the fold-down of the fender into the well
Could be just replaced wells or someone put wells in non-welled fenders

Re: Vicky Dome Light

The glass is soldiered in the cover
But the cover just pulls away from the housing
There are “ears” on the cover that hold both together by pressure
Should pull apart

Re: Steering Wheel

Even 50 years ago there we repops.
Does it have mold markings on the reverse?
Cracks scuffs at all?
