That's why you send the carb to Charlie Schwendler (charlieNY)!
He repairs all the problems that exists in any particular carb. When it comes back, it is better than new and that includes "new"...

Rumbleseat (Paul Garrigan RIP) always replaced the grease in any of the

throwout bearings that he used with a quality grease. I can't find it now, but somewhere here on the "Barn", someone posted...

No problem. I ran mine for quite a while until I got the changer. Just do the math when in overdrive; increase the indicated speed by 30%. BTW, my changer doesn't use vacuum, it's manually changed.

Maybe a bad, or just dirty ignition switch. I had that problem with my '39 and I had to rebuild the switch.
