Hi All,

My Model A started and ran two months ago. I got around to try starting it a few days ago and it didnt start.

I thought it was a spark issue. It had the older style distributor upper...

Re: T5 Valley Machining Kit

I sourced a t5 at the carlisle swap meet (well atleast my dad did) and it is an s10 from a 2.5L v6? that is world class and has the 3.76 gearing.

I'm thinking of two different plans which are ...

Re: T5 Valley Machining Kit

I think, due to Valley Machining being 2 hour away from me in San Diego and Vintage Metalworks being in Ohio, due to distance I would go with Valley Machining just in case I really get hung up on...

I recently moved to San Diego, due to work and I'll be here a few years. I plan on shipping out my 30 phaeton. It has a B block and a stock A trans. I have zero welding ability but I am...

Re: Honing Cylinders

I took measurements on the first two cylinders with a dial bore gauge and mic set to 3.955". Hope the way I laid it out is clear.

Cylinder 1: top
3/9 oclock: 3.9551"
12/6oclock: 3.9562"...

Re: Honing Cylinders

I'm going to try those acids to see if it gets rid of the aluminum. I'm ordering pistons today and will hopefully get them by Friday so I can do this all over the weekend.

Going to borrow a set of...

Re: Honing Cylinders

So I was able to borrow a mic from work again today and measured the pistons on the correct thrust surface. I got 3.9515" to 3.952".

Seeing as my measurements for the cylinders were 3.954" to...

Re: Honing Cylinders

I took the measuremnets at the top of the piston right above the top ring. I'm assuming this is not the thrust surface. Where is the thrust surface? I tried googling it, but it was still unclear. I...

Honing Cylinders

Hey Guys,

I have a B motor which was supposedly rebuilt (no receipts, but looks clean with oil pan removed and head off), which was experiencing blow by out of the oil filler tube and would get...

Re: Is it a bad time to sell?

I'm a younger guy, (23) and got a phaeton. I looked for over a year looking for roadsters and phaetons. Cars priced over 14k that were open seemed to take a lot longer to sell, whereas cars in the...

Re: Blow by/smoking issue

I did plug the two steam holes, I am using a Best B gasket.

The tops of the pistons were a lot cleaner before I ran it... But now they have black/brown carbon on them.

I'm wondering if my head...

Re: Blow by/smoking issue

Pulled the head and the #7 stud between cylinder #1 and #2 was slightly wet, as well as the number 1 cylinder had (water?) in it. Maybe this explains the blow by from the oil tube?

I noticed this...

Re: Blow by/smoking issue

The plugs looked pretty normal. The #1 cylinder's spark plug had a little more carbon on it than the other three but not an excessive amount. The smoke smelled kind of like tar or dirty oil (I can't...

Blow by/smoking issue

I went out for a drive yesterday, i have probably only put 50 miles on a Model B block w/ an A head, since I got the car. Previous owner said it was rebuilt (bored 0.080" over) and it looked clean...

Re: 1930 Roadster: An Amazing Deal, or a Scam?

I'd try calling. Scammers usually never put their phone number or include more than one picture.

Probably just a bad salesman.

I love my 30 standard tub. Looked for a little over a year and saw a few pass by but most seemed to be rough condition, or highly overpriced. About 6 months ago I got one and its gotta be one of the...

Re: OHV conversion durability/longevity

Thanks for all the information. It seems as though the miller OHV would be the one to look into if I decide on an OHV.

Is it a pretty simple bolt on procedure, or is there a lot of tuning...
