Just one more question on this topic; if I have a clunk coming from this area, I believe it is the timing gear. Does it hurt to run the engine this way or will I just 'break down' and need a tow?

rear brake drum with outty or inny?
I just received a few old brake drums and my 1930 has a recessed inny ring around the neck, used for removing the drum. But one of the drums I just received has an outty.... a raised shoulder around...

overheated motor won't start now
I got a text from a club member, "I checked the oil and gas but failed to check the water. About a mile from the garage smoke comes from everywhere and the engine stops. Engine badly overheated....
