Re: I notice my transmission leaking a little bit on the floor.

Have you located where it is leaking from? One spot that tends to leak is he fitting for the fill tube as well as the pan gasket.

Needless to say, the front seal may be bad as well as the...

Re: 56 dash removal

If it's anything like a 56 Bird, then it's fairly easy as long as you get all the screws and bolts out and all wires disconnected. Just slide it back to you once everything is unbolted. Naturally,...

Re: Need help identifying these wheel covers

Looks like 55-56. Is the red piece plastic? If so, quite sure 55-56. Both sedans and Tbirds used the same one.

Re: 55 Customline Disc Advise

If you happen to find a Versailles (Lincoln) setup, I understand the lower ball joint hole does not have to be reamed.

I had a Granada set up, had to ream mine. (54 Ford). Didn't have to add...

Re: 55 Customline Disc Advise

I remember that the Mercury equivalent of a Granada was the Monarch, not the Comet. In a Lincoln, it was the Versailles.

I did the same swap with 80 Granada front brakes. Went with non-power,...

Re: Wire Wheel Tires with Radisl tires

First I ever heard of that. I know a friend with a 56 Bird - wire wheels, radial with tubes. Put thousands and thousands of miles on them going from convention to convention all over the country....

Your posting in the wrong section. repost to the Early V8 section. Always start a new thread, don't use an old unrelated thread to your question

Re: Re-pop Parts

In my first contact with Rock Auto, in inquiring about rebuilds that they are supposed to handle, they brushed me off with a generic answer that didn't come near answering my question. They, like...

Re: What tire pressures do I use frnt and rear

I've been following this, and in my experience anything over 35 pounds make it ride like steam roller. In addition, tires must have a certain amount of cushion so over inflation ( 40 lbs or more)...

Re: 1955 Ford F-600

Unless you are going to show it for judging (concours) restore it to your satisfaction and don't worry about it being "right"

Re: What the bes oil to use in a 312 engine

While I won't mention his name, a noted Y Block engine builder in the South only uses Valvoline conventional 10-30 or 10-40. He is dead set against diesel oil.

Re: I want a Automatic with overdrive in my T-Bird

You do have to grind some of the frame (right side only I believe). Had a friend put in an AOD and watched him grinds. Nothing major. New rear mount has to be made up and all the new linkage for...

There is a company in Connecticut that installs linings on your shoes that provides better braking. Don't have the name right now.

The guy who commissioned this study has no axe to grind with anybody. He is a noted early Bird restorer and engine builder.

Re: front wheel cylinder bleeding tools

If it's giving you a real hard time and the above suggestions don't work, pull the cylinder off, set it in a vise and try a six point socket.

For a wrench, I would suggest a box wrench rather...
