Re: 48 to 52 f1 steering box

No, that is not the case here. 37-48 passenger car steering box internals are the same as 48-52 pickup internals when they are both either LHD or RHD.

LHD sectors have the roller canted to the...

Re: 48 to 52 f1 steering box

Most early Ford parts suppliers have the RHD worms. All other rebuild parts are the same as LHD, granted your sector shaft is rebuildable. And the comment above is correct, in that 37-48 Ford car...

Re: 30/31 v 32-34 steering box mounts

I assume you are referring to the "sector housing". If so, yes you can install a 30-31 Model A sector housing on a 32-34 steering box. I just did one with 15:1 internals for a Model A.

33-34 Steering Wheel Orientation

I was having a discussion with a friend about 33-34 Steering Wheel orientation.

The wheels have double keyways, allowing either Spoke Down (Y) or Spoke Up (Inverted Y). My understanding was...

Re: Drive shaft won’t go into univetsal

I have taken springs apart, installed the main leaf, then re-assembled the spring in place.

Re: 32 transmission with 39 gears

Model A gears will work in the early B rear end. I put a set of 3.54's in an early B rear in a 32 sedan. Also had 16/28 gear combo with 7.50-16's. Main difference was a mild 239 flathead V8...

Re: Steering box lube fill plug

Model A are pipe thread, but the V8 are not. They are 3/4-20 tapered thread which is not common at all. I pull the plugs out of every junk steering box I find...

Re: Steering box lube fill plug

The plugs are 3/4-20 tapered thread. They are not being reproduced as far as I know.

Re: Rebuilding my steering box

I use a 1/2" Carbide 4-flute end mill to cut the swedge off one end of the original pin. The new pin I put a short TIG weld on each end, about 3/8-1/2" across the top. You could then get the new...

Re: 33 Pickup Steering Box and Headers

Red's headers work well. They make headers for the 32-34 with stock, F1 or F100 steering. For 32's with 1937 Nash or Hudson steering, I have used Red's headers made for F100 steering in a 32...

WTB: 32-37 Tailgate Chains/Hardware

Looking for original tailgate chains, loops, hooks and forged brackets that attach to the stake pocket. All for a 32 pickup, but I think 32-37 are the same.

It's for an un-restored truck with...

Re: Fitting Lincoln Brake Backing Plates To A '40

I like 40 grit. It cuts fast, and you don't need a lot of pressure.

Re: Who has 32 Fords on Ford Barn

Here are my 32's. My budget only allows for Fordors and pickups. None are stock, but all flathead Ford V8's. The Fordor was a 70's restoration, the RPU was built from complete junk and the closed...
