Can a volt meter be hooked up to any switch or other power supply under the dash as long as there is no power with the switch off,or are there some things to stay away from? I am putting a 12 volt...

I have a 38 Chevy coupe street rod that i have had for 27 years. Made lots of changes on it over the years. This coming year i hope to get my stock 49 Ford Club Coupe running and driveable.

I am learning from all of this. Is it possible that the kick down switch is out of adjustment and not fully engaging when the gas pedal is pushed down. Don't know if it would make any difference.

If it feels right go ahead. I don't know how old you are , but at some point it is easier to buy what you want rather than try to build it.

Anything of value that you have and collect , put one of those little cardboard tags with the sting on it and attach it to the item with what you think it is worth. Saves a lot of head scratching for...

I thought he was talking about the cover on the transmission hump. I have the one on my 49 off now while i am working on it.

Yes, there is a cover over the transmission. You have to take the carpet out and remove some bolts and the cover comes off. Makes it easier to work on.

I use a camera with an SD card when i work on something with a lot of parts. That way you can take pictures in steps as you take it apart and also refer back to what you did at a later date....

Check with Tyree Harris. [804]556-5200. I bought an original harness for my 49 Ford from him several years ago. Easy to read diagrams and he also drew a diagram showing me what i had to do to switch...

49 Ford O.D. kickdown switch

When installing the kickdown switch , does it go all the way against the bottom of the floor board or is there a certain hight adjustment for underneath the gas pedal? Thanks.
