Re: 1946 Mercury 12v Wiper Bench Testing Help.

Did you in fact use the line with the in-line fuse to connect it to the battery?
If so is the fuse still good, or blown?

This now becomes a little clearer (it's the pinion shaft seal not an axle seal)
It should pry off utilizing the outer seam.

Does the pic on left show the shield and bearing in place with the axle removed?

Re: Lowering 46 Ford 4 door

The go to method way back when, was longer shackles with sway bars added and maybe a 100 pound bag of sand in the trunk if needed.

Re: Bullet connector crimping tool

Use caution because virtually all the Buchanan crimpers that I see offered on Ebay are for different applications and not for the 3/16" Ford type bullet.

Re: Dehumidifier

Yes I use one but only when the humidity levels are high outdoors.
Helps to prevent condensation on susceptible parts.

Re: Vintage Seat belt retractor reels

Used them years ago when that was the only option. Only on the door side and they worked well.

Re: 1940 Brake Bleeding

By all means, you should continue using whatever method works for you.
'Speed bleeders' are a different animal.
The pedal is depressed while the bleeder is open and without pre-pumping to build up...

Re: 1940 Brake Bleeding

With the Speed bleeder open, pump the pedal 2-3 times, close the bleeder. (do this just once)
You should not have to add brake fluid at this point but check it and add if necessary.

NOW go to...

Re: 1940 Brake Bleeding

The original poster has installed 'Speed bleeders' so sucking air back into the system is not a factor.

Re: 1950 Outside door handle buttons

Been a long time since I have seen the inside of door handles as mine were removed years ago.
Is there a lip around the inner surface that holds it from slipping off the back of the button?

Re: 1940 Brake Bleeding

You have to shut OFF the bleeder after each time you bleed the line.
That is, slow pump to get fluid in the catch can.
Then close the bleeder and then proceed to next line and do the same.
Fill...

Re: 1940 Brake Bleeding

Speed bleeders generally only require 2-3 slow pumps to purge the line and then close the bleeder.

Is the pedal to master cylinder rod correctly adjusted?

Re: Spark Plug Reading

The best way to get a reading is to run at speed for a period of time then shut off vehicle and coast to a convenient spot and pull the plugs.

Re: Drug another home but with a torque converter

Based on the water pumps and the EAB on the head, looks like '52-'53 Ford.
The starter I have has an extra ear that is not used and is bolted on with just two bolts.

May have less clearance issues.
