Re: Throttle shaft lubricant

E z turn. That looks like it.
Want to try it.
One fix was Teflon clear tape on the external side of the throttle shaft, but I can't locate any locally. I know bushings are good, just want to...

Throttle shaft lubricant

Did a fruitless search for a petroleum resistant lube for the zenith throttle shaft.
I remember a past discussion where this came up but can't find it.
Guess I can try never-seize. Maybe silicon...

Re: Push down ignition switch

Probably a stainless steel wire. I like that. Improves the contact, and easy to do.

Re: Push down ignition switch

Noticed a clip for each spark plug brass strip. From here it looks like you managed to drill thru the post on the distributor body.
Did I see this correctly?

Re: I need the proper names of parts I need for my pickup

Picture would probably help. Year, and if a closed cab, or open, and probably the build date
In 1930 the body changed from a 1929 style to a 1930 in mid year.

Re: zenith 1 overflows.

Has the float been checked? A worn float can wear causing the fuel valve to stick. The float can loose bouyancy. Even new valves stick, the Viton valve can stick, the seat in an OEM valve can wear.

Re: Strange Happenings health wise

Might try coming back to vertical slowly. Moderation.
You may be hearing alarms going off that aren't there.
Especially with the heat we have been having lately.

Re: The dreaded death wobble

I would also include an inspection of the front wheel bearings. You are probably ready for repacking the bearings anyway. Jack up each front wheel and see if there is any play.

Re: 31 2 tooth steering box adjustments

Service bulletins has a great instruction. IMHO best done out of vehicle.
Then tested in the car. No slop where the box bolts to the frame, some wear in the frame holes will become problematic.

Re: Sanity check on lubing springs in place

The center bolt can fail at any time, the best time would be when the spring is contained.

The reason the old contact is grafted onto the new harness is so the...

Re: Sanity check on lubing springs in place

Where is the containment step in your sequence? C-clamps, or logging chain would do the job. I would do with step 4.

Re: shavings found in light switch body

Someone builds up replacement wire harnesses and will use the old plate. In my opinion, your harness plate looks good to reuse. I don't recognize the shavings as a part of the light switch internals....
