Re: What's the hiss, hiss, history of this

It is a double action fuel pump. Fuel pump on one end and a vacuum booster pump on the other.

Re: Ol man thinkin & seeking to learn

Many think (me too) that the modern off-shore condensers are questionable, at best. If you have a proven condenser, it is probably better than most new ones. Keep it.

Re: No reverse BW R-10

Rubber bands have been used forever. The roller drum either cuts them or pushes them off during installation. If the car drives in forward gears with OD handle pushed in, the rollers are functioning.

Re: 8BA in '37 coupe ...

I put an 8BA type engine in my '38. I understood that a large clean-out oil truck pan would work but the pitman harm hits the pan in front of the clean out. The engine was in the car when I...

Re: No reverse BW R-10

The rollers would freewheel anyway because the shaft is turning backwards in reverse. The car wouldn't move forward if the rollers were not functioning. The sun gear locks the transmission by moving...

Re: No reverse BW R-10

See section II of the attached manual. The sun gear is attached to the lock-out rod by a slot in the sun gear. If the part that connects the sun gear to the lock out rod isn't in the slot on the sun...

Re: Mustang Owners Museum

So they depend on Mustang owners to keep their stock fresh? Your Truckstang surely falls into the unique category.

Re: Turn Signal Switch with Relays

It sounds like the relay triggers don't draw enough current to operate the flasher. Try putting a dummy load, like a light bulb, on the trigger circuit for the relays.

Re: LED headlamps for 37 Ford

Bob Drake has a kit that replaces the reflector and uses a halogen bulb, I THINK an H4 bulb. His kit uses the original lens. There are replacement LED bulbs for the H4 bulbs. A round-about-way of...

Re: 52 Rubber Bump Stop

My experience with that type of bumper is to lube it with silicone or rubber lube then twist and push it in the hole to the grove in the bumper. Being a farmer, I'll bet you can get it done.

Re: electrical question

As per my reply to your other thread, I would be surprised if reversing the two lighting wires attached to the LED light doesn't fix it.

Re: Let me ask another way

I would find the brake light wire at the tail light bucket and verify that it is hot when brakes are actuated, both with headlights on/off. Then verify that the brake light hot wire is connected to...

Re: 1955 ford Ranchwagon Fuel sending unit

If you replaced the fuel gauge with a Ford unit you probably won't get it to read accurately through the range using an aftermarket sender. About all you can do is adjust it to tell you when the tank...

Pitman arm interchange with '38

I need a pitman arm for a '38 sedan and need to know what years interchange with it. The drag link joint is on the bottom of this one, with the nut on top.
Thanks, Gene

Re: Recurring Sudden Oil pressure drop

It does sound like a restricted oil pick-up. As engine speed increases, so does the volume of oil pumped. Ten to fifteen pounds at any speed above idle is low. We don't know any details about the...

Re: What Car Skates work best?

When I built my car in the pre-Harbor Freight era, I built a set of dollies from oak planks and castors from a local castor store. They aren't great, but I can move it by myself. As mentioned above,...

Re: 1955 272 carburetor rebuild

If you will indicate if it is a 2 barrel or 4 barrel it might widen your choices of rebuilders.
