I look at them too. I do not have Model A parts (I do T's) to sell but I know someone that does, he does not do computers so will pass the info on and act as a go between. So ya pretty much every day...

When doing new Babbitt, MAKE SURE THE THRUST FACES ARE AS SMOOTH AS THE JOURNAL ON THE CRANK. That means both ends. If they are not will act like a file and remove material same as a file would.

Bummer, would have been easier fix then some of the suggestions so far.

Re my suggestion about soldering it in; if that jet is screwed in without the gasket it can interfere with the well going...

The secondary well is a different size then the 5M.75 jets. So you need more then just the jets thread repaired to refurb this carb?

The Green books shows valve seat inserts for as early as the 33 100HP engine. Seems to me I was told there were some factory A or B blocks that had insert exhaust seats?

I ran the 1129 shown directly off a good battery for my test. 1129 would be for a stand alone brake light in brightness, the one I tested at 6V was more in the dim tail light range.

Re the head gasket area and around the crack.
That area along the head and block looks to be copper-coat not rust.
