Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Chris, You will probably get a better brake adjustment if you support the axles instead of them hanging free.

Treven, I just had Michael Driskell reline some BB shoes. I removed the old lining,...

Is that Fig.46 in the July 1932 Service Bulletins, sure does look like the rod is slotted.

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

This picture shows dialing in a Model A flywheel housing. Not sure how you
would do this on a B with the pan being the lower half.

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

The shims should be the same thickness as the compressed gasket between
the upper flywheel housing and block.

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

That engine is looking good. Did you have the shims for the flywheel housing, they are usually missing. https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/product.htm?pid=978790&cat=41688

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Chris, Maybe these pictures will help. The 1st is the early crank like you have, the 2nd
is the early crank with the weights added and the 3rd is the later counter balanced crank.

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

I think the pins were to hold the add on weights Ford put on the early cranks
when the engine was rebuilt. David will probably know. The weights have to be removed to grind the crank.

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

The Model A Truck Owner book show a short wheel base truck with heavy duty
hydraulic hoist at 4460 Lbs. I would think the BB would be about the same.

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

I wonder if that new pitman arm goes with the drag link with the bend in it for
the 1933-34 trucks. The 1932 pitman arm is BB-3590-AR and the 1933-34
is BB-3590-B.

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Looks like the pitman arm only fits the big truck and is a one year only item,
BB-3590-AR.
