Ronnie, I’m curious why you recommend a larger plug gap for 12 volts. Is the secondary voltage of a 12 volt system higher than a 6 volt system?

I asked whether you had an automatic or manual because I had similar symptoms with my 56 with automatic and 292. I was getting a "knock" at idle and at low rpm's. It turned out to be the flex plate....

Thank you all for the input. I bought a Snapon S8564B and a Proto 6540 on e-bay, both work OK, the Proto 6540 works the best. Yes, they are 1/2".
