Re: Pulling my head out...

UPDATE: Soaked for about a week. Kinda got the front of the head moved. Maybe 1/32" or so.

I think it is time to bring out the big guns. I have pulled a bunch of these over the years and have...

Re: Pulling my head out...

Update: When I removed all the nuts off the studs, I don't believe any of them were torqued over about 30-35 pounds. It appears that someone started the job, but didn't finish it.

I am going to...

Hi all,

I just took possession of my Dad's 1929 Tudor. It has been in storage for about 5 years or so without much driving.

When I went out to get it running again, it belched out a ton of...

Wheels on ZZ Top's Eliminator Coupe?

Greetings all,

I am curious if anyone here knows what the wheels are on Billy Gibbon's 33 Ford coupe known as the Eliminator.

Thanks in advance,

Re: Interesting Video about Electrolysis

This is not for paint removal. This is for rust removal/conversion.

I did not do the video.

Interesting Video about Electrolysis

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKZv14-K71g

I have used this process to do etching in the past on pieces of reproduction medieval armor that I have made.

This is the best video on the process I...

Re: Steel alloys used?

I believe the shackles on these cars are forged. Any thoughts on what alloy was used on those?

Re: Warning: Don't try this at home kids.

I just finished unloading the car from the blazer and put a bunch of parts back in the blazer to take over to a friend's place for blasting. Once I have them cleaned up, they get primered and put...

Warning: Don't try this at home kids.

I was finally able to get down to my dad's place and pick up the '28 Business Coupe. My plan was to bring it back to my house in the back of my Blazer and I actually managed to get it done with no...

Re: bondo then primer or primer then bondo?

Re: Rogue Valley A's

Actually, I wound up cutting the drums off the hubs and then the hubs off the axels. They were rusted solid and I have very serious doubts that a puller would have budged it.

Thanks though. If...

Re: aluminum fan

All the major Model A parts suppliers offer them in their catalogs. However, it would seem that lately, they are back-ordered. However, I could very well be wrong on this.

You might check with...

Re: 32 specifications?

Again, I am very well aware of the difficulty of the task. Rather, not so much the difficulty, because no panel is inherently difficult, but, rather, time consuming.

Re: 32 specifications?

Again, the project isn't about building a '32. It is about learning how to create all the different panels involved. We had to choose a vehicle to emulate and since he already has 3-Model A's and a...

Re: Paint Availability

Last I checked, PPG still offers Lacquer paint in their catalog. However, good luck finding a local paint store that stocks it. The Black enamel should be an instore stock item though.

Best of...

Re: Fan question

The four-bladed fans I have seen come apart actually work-hardened and broke at the joint.
