Your life, passengers or your car worth less than $500-$600 bucks? Run them.

Re: Aluminum heads

All

Thank you, I really learned a lot. I never thought switching heads was so involved. I canceled my order and will look for another, more simplistic, project.

Re: Aluminum heads

Ok thanks. Knowledge is power, I agree. Unfortunately, it’s all way over my head. As previously mentioned, I’m 86, I like turning a wrench and was looking for a somewhat easy winter project to keep...

Denny

How did you accomplish: “Now that I've got the chamber volumes and squish where I want them on these heads”

Re: Aluminum heads

I’m 86, I’ll report back.

Have a question. If gaskets are installed properly why would aluminum be tough to get off?

Thanks all.

The car currently has bolts (think it’s a later 239) and would like again to use bolts.

Aluminum heads

Hi Gents

I hope this doesn’t start a long thread about positive/ negative on aluminum vs stock heads.

But here goes. I’m looking for a project to keep me off the couch. I’m thinking about...

Today when leaving the house (after 5 min idle warm up) it felt like the emergency brake was on. I pushed clutch in and checked and the brake was off. I then left for store. All good...

Re: 39 coupe headers

Thank you all.

My main concern is will the headers connect up to existing pipes? Or will I need to fab new ones.

My 39 has a later 239 and dual exhaust. I’m thinking about buying reds headers. I have couple questions.

Re: Bolt remover socket

Ok thx. I’m in no rush. I don’t know how to weld. I’ve been pb blasting, torch and vise grips. Just don’t want to round it anymore than it is. I’ll try again tomorrow and if no luck I’ll order ABN.
