Re: Tools/supplies needed while traveling

There's no reason to carry a complete spare carb. Nothing in them will fail, or wear out on a trip. They might leak on occasion, or plug with something, but that's it.

You'll end up with more...

Re: Model A Times

Maybe someone should just reach out to John LaVoy. He’s active in the hobby, even if he doesn’t sign in here that often. This is pretty much speculation and rumor, go to the source for the answer.

Re: PPG Omni Urethane or the Concept DCC

Yes! There are several paints that are better than PPG. I personally won't use PPG, but that's based on my personal experience with it several years ago on numerous cars.

I think you need to...

Re: Exhaust manifold glands

The two manifolds need to be securely bolted together before you assemble them to the engine. You need to bolt them together, and mill the jointed manifold surface straight and flat.

There's a...

Re: Burned '32 PU came to new home today

It's not arrogance or being rude. How many "free estimates" do you think they've given out only to never see the potential customer again? That takes time away from their work. No one likes the...

Re: Cost of Running Burtz Engine

Then don't buy it. Seems like a simple solution to me, I was hoping you had something to add in response to the original poster's question.

Re: '39 std cpe in Montana auction V8 Swap section

It’s Dean’s from Bozeman, MT. A super nice guy I’ve met at swap meets and bought parts from. He’s a wealth of knowledge on the very early production A’s, he owns A495, a nice car!

Re: Urethane vs Base Clear

A single stage paint is just the true color. A two stage paint is a little bit of color with a “clear” paint on top. Both take the same maintenance to keep from oxidizing, and both can be sanded and...

Re: Arizona Insurance

Finally, some useful context. What you are describing won't work, which is why AZ set it up this way. Cars that are emissions exempt in AZ have to be 66' or earlier, or have "historical",...

Re: Pressurized Radiator

This thread has filled with a lot of misinformation. The original poster asked about mounting the overflow tank, there are only a couple of responses related to that.

If you have a leaking head...

Re: Pressurized Radiator

Expand upon this. How is the original poster asking for trouble by asking how to mount the overflow tank?

I mounted my overflow tank with a custom bracket.

Re: Local Estate Auction 1935 Roadster Sells for $53,925.00

The replica bus buyers are just the typical auction fame seekers as far as the real VWís are concerned it the typical big time VW collectors. Jerry Seinfeld is one, Fluffy Guy another comedian, VW...

Re: Local Estate Auction 1935 Roadster Sells for $53,925.00

No worries. I'm a VW guy too, and have little use for a bus, regardless of the price. I do think the bus prices are way out of hand, even for the basic versions. Those are in the $10k-40k range...

Re: Local Estate Auction 1935 Roadster Sells for $53,925.00

This is quite wrong and out of touch in regards to VW's. The market for panel busses, 13 window busses, and the more plain versions being converted into the deluxe 21 and 23 window busses has...

Re: How to remove ethanol from gasoline.
