1955 Project Car for Sale

My Neighbor approached me about selling his 1955 Ford Thunderbird.

Ideally he would like to sell it to someone who will restore it.

Please contact me here with any questions.

Re: 1934 ignition switch quirky

Does any one have a photo of how it looks together with the plate?

My 34 does not include the plate- or should I just leave the plate out? I also notice the newer plate has a L shaped right...

Re: 1934 ignition switch quirky

So I took the thing apart

There was weird piece of metal in there. Looks like some damage to one of the contacts

I’ll clean it up and see if it works- but I’m thinking I should replace it...

1934 ignition switch quirky

I think I have a faulty ignition switch.

Quick reminder, I’m a newbie and a general idiot. I’ve been driving this 34 cabriolet all of 2 months-my first flathead.

Went to get gas couple of...

I got it started!

One of the cables was a little loose on the switch- I think it was touching the other cable. I tightened it up and gave it a try-

I went ahead and ordered a new switch...

Re: 34 smoking starter switch from the newbie.

Is it repairable if I take it off and clean it up or is it better to replace it? I see that third generation has one for 35 bucks.

Re: 34 smoking starter switch from the newbie.

The switch is a button on the floor-

Interesting point Jim

I’m certainly not a show guy. It’s gonna be a driver. I really want to eventually drive it to LA and back. (After I’m sure it will run on an extended trip!)
