Re: 35-36 truck grill lacing

Here's some photos that might help. The lacing is held to the grille shell by metal clips. The clips are fastened to the lacing by split rivets.

Re: 35' gas tank ID

Ford 35, If you have the 112" wheelbase panel delivery, then it is the same tank as used in the 35 pickup. 35 tanks have a small hole on top to receive the 35 hydrostatic gas sending unit. The...

Re: 1936 Doors and Fenders

Thanks Gary. That explains why the body book lists a different part number for a door assembly less paint and trim for a 5-window coupe vs a fordor. (68-771714/15 vs 68-731714/15). The door trim...

Re: 1935-1936 Ford Running Boards

Re: Stainless steel Fords going to auction

Terry, I don't remember whether the car was early, mid, or late 36. I'm guessing mid year. They started to fabricate the cars in early 36, but ran into so much trouble working with the stainless...

David G. I was not there the day the photos were taken. I remember working on the Ford though. I was in Jon Anderson's garage for several days. It was a mess. We rewired it, replaced the fuel...

Re: Dash color

No Bullshark, You weren't misled. You have a Deluxe car and it had a dark metallic taupe dash. Standard cars had a maroon dash.

Re: Dash color

Verona Maroon is the name of an exterior body color, not a dash color.

Re: Dash color

5tbird7 You will have to blame Mr. Ford for a lack of a special name for his maroon dash color on the standard 35 Ford. The Ford paint number and description is: M-984 Maroon Pyroxylin ...

Interesting discussion regarding S.A.E. Here's a clipping from a Ford fastener catalogue from the 40's. Notice SAE (fine)and USS (course) designations.
