A machine shop near me solders cracks like that on A blocks. It can be fixed.

Someone tried to braze an engine block I have about 50 years ago and just made the crack run. I used JB Weld on it...

They do make a noticeable improvement in ride and handling.

Another less pricey option is to have them rebuilt. John Holland currently has a set of mine for rebuilding.

Iíve never heard that a stainless muffler will run hotter. I do know that I bought a stainless muffler from Brattonís over 30 years ago and it has held up very well. Itís the best-fitting muffler...

And....when screwing a drain pipe into the rear main bearing cap, do not screw it in too far - it will stick up in the drain channel and prevent oil from draining through the tube....making the leak...
