Re: '38 rear brake spring - how to? @*&%^!!

I do not! ...and that sounds very useful. Do you have a photo of the one I should look for or are they pretty generic?

'38 rear brake spring - how to? @*&%^!!

Ok, what's the trick to install the spring on the rear brakes? I have the backing plate assembly on the bench at the moment, but can install them on the axel if needed.

I know you guys know :D

Re: Test fired my flattey!!

Thanks! More of a sturdy dolly than a run stand. I hated having the motor on a traditional stand. All that weight on four bolts made me cringe. A short trip to Homedepot and a little sawdust later...

Re: Test fired my flattey!!

Thank you for that Ron. I am planning to break it in with two carbs blocked until I'm confident everything is working correctly, but it's very good to hear an experienced confirmation.

Test fired my flattey!!

Very exciting day and a long time coming. I bought this flathead 15 years ago with plant to build it. About 2 years ago I got the block over to Gary (GOSFAST) for a check, machine work and parts....

Re: rattle-can touch-up paint

Thanks,
Carl

Thanks Frank. Both the distributor and coil came from Jim so I'm sure they are well matched. That said, still good information and I appreciate it.

Re: Bubba's distributor question

Head gasket installation

More questions from me. How are you guys installing “sealing” your head gaskets. I have new Feltpro with aluminum heads and a freshly machined block.

Thanks,
Carl
