I agree with Jim. 302 in my avatar with flex fan and no shroud. Blade to radiator is 1" and absolutely no heating issues. Good luck with your project......

Re: 1955 Ranch Wagon with a 302 engine/ Temp gauge

Very true what you said. I have heard this condition called "heat soak" and "latent heat of absorption". Not hard to understand that when temps in combustion chamber reaches a couple thousand degrees...

Re: Electric fuel pumps...

I agree with all of the above that you have an issue somewhere. My friend had a gas smell similar to yours. It was ignored and one evening the leak got big enough while we were on a dinner cruise and...

Re: 32 Pa. LicenPlates now legal on my 32 now

Oregon has a YOM plate. You find an original and take the number to DMV and if it is not in use it is yours. One time fee of $100. Caveat-you are only "supposed" to drive car for car shows, parade...

Re: Soot from exhaust on start-up

My avatar 302 also does the soot on the floor thing until it warms up enough for the auto choke to open then no more soot. Choke of course makes it run rich.

Re: Driver Door Banging on Body Opening?

Could be that the striker plate is excessively worn or loose. This happened to me once and the striker plate had loosened up enough to allow the door to misalign just a smidgen.

Re: 6 volt/12 volt jump box

For those of you that remember Old Henry Craig....................He was at my house with his (I believe) '46 Ford and the battery went bad. He jumped it with a 12V Bolt portable jumper to start it....

Red face Re: 1941 Business coupe rear window garnish moulding

Yes I totally agree but they don't call out any of them being a "business coupe" like they on the others so is one of these a business coupe. I find this to be confusing.

Yes vilanar is correct. McCulloch started the chain saw and outboard motor of the same name. He founded LHC because he needed a new place to move his company. Very interesting story. Lake Havasu City...

Re: Replace any tire over 6 years old.

I had the same thing happen to me on my 1 ton dually. Les Schwab Tire center. I guess $1500 for tires doesnt rate installation of new valve stems!!

Re: specialty plates and toppers?

Oregon allows just about any kind of vintage plates also. I found one original 1950 plate. Take it to DMV and they run the number to see if anyone else is using the other plate. If not you are in...

Re: 1941 Business coupe rear window garnish moulding

Willi............my book does not show a "business" coupe for 1941. It does show however deluxe and super deluxe coupes with and without jump seats. Ford made a total of 38,420 of these coupes. Is...

Re: Mind Your Own Business Coupes

My V8 Album book shows business coupes from 1947 through 1953 and stops with the 1953 models. It also shows the 1940 business coupe but not 1941, strange seems to me.
